The SEALL Festival of Small Halls launched last year taking Scotland’s finest trad musicians to rural venues around Skye and Raasay. Unfortunately, owing to the small scale of the festival and Skye’s unusual geography, we were unable to cover all of our communities in just nine days.
Many people have asked us if we are bringing the Small Halls Festival to their hall this year and we have tried our best to include as many as possible in the programme.
New to this year are halls in Glendale, Kyleakin, Sleat (Sabhal M ò r Ostaig An Talla Mòr) and Portree.
In Portree, on Friday 29 November, we are bringing Donald Shaw, Su-a Lee, Lauren MacColl and Hamish Napier to the wonderful St Columba’s Church, famed for its fantastic acoustics and beautiful historical architecture. Entry includes a welcoming gin and tonic courtesy of the Isle of Harris distillery.
Kyleakin (22 November), Glendale (23 November) and Sleat (24 November) have got right into the celebratory spirit of the festival and will be hosting pre-concert meals from 6pm (payable separately, see event pages for details) before the music starts at 7.30pm.
